Drying
Stacks of collages – frame supports were glued to the backs of all of these today, and now they are drying.

188 pieces of 1×2 wood supports were measured and cut today in ten different sizes (Thank you, dear Justin).

And not just once, but twice, as – and I am not exagerrating for effect here, this is exactly how it happened – at the precise moment Justin had his saw mere inches from what was to be the final piece of wood to be cut, I realized my measurements were off by 1/2".  You’ve never seen two people measure, mark, cut and organize 188 pieces of wood so quickly.

22 collages had frame supports glued onto them today, with 4 pieces of wood for every frame.

4 original oil paintings were photographed and packed up for a show at Virginia Tech’s Armory Art Gallery this month.

6 new portfolio pages were designed to present to someone tomorrow for a possible show in November and December.

I paid two bills, ate two eggs for breakfast, had one cafe au lait, went on one bike ride, talked to my girlfriend Melissa two times on the phone, did three loads of laundry and I am about to go take one long, hot bath and then sleep for as many hours as possible.

GOSH! you have been busy! nice
job. i always measure wrong. it
takes me forever to commit if i
am cutting something. i have too
much of a painful past in the
    measuring area!
are you going to show any of your
    oil paintings?

    Hi Christine,
I love these posts of yours; so full of energy and achievement, makes me want to get up and go! You make even mundane household job (e.g. laundry) sound quite sumptuous and inspiring, I don’t know how you do it, but you do!
Your quote reminds me of my schooldays when I used to say to myself “oh, it doesn’t matter if I don’t do my homework today, it’s irrelevant in the bigger picture of things and I won’t care when I am grown up”! Well, if I had to give any advice to a child nowadays, then it would be exactly that quote and that “it DOES matter” – if you ever want to get anywhere and create a life full of colourful and vibrating chords.
    Thanks, Kerstin

hi there! wow, you were productive!
wondering what your collages are made on, how you attach them to the frame supports, and do you then paint the sides of the frame supports or leave them as is? just curious! :-)
