Crossing Over

That I Would Be Good
that I would be good even if I did nothing
that I would be good even if I got the thumbs down
that I would be good if I got and stayed sick
that I would be good even if I gained ten pounds
that I would be fine even if I went bankrupt
that I would be good if I lost my hair and my youth
that I would be great if I was no longer queen
that I would be grand if I was not all knowing
that I would be loved even when I numb myself
that I would be good even when I am overwhelmed
that I would be loved even when I was fuming
that I would be good even if I was clingy
that I would be good even if I lost sanity
that I would be good
whether with or without you

The week is over and it has been a wild one. I look to next week with eager anticipation, as I feel rested from all this moving, nesting and other challenges and ready to dive deep into my creative work. To do lists are being written, ideas are being formulated and sparks are being re-ignited.
While I rarely allow myself this indulgence, one of my favorite things is microwave popcorn. My favorite moment is when I hear the first kernels burst open. Pop….. pop…… pop pop…. pop…. pop pop pop… because then I know any second everything is going to start poppping at once and I’m less than a minute away from a yummy treat. My creative energy feels like those first few seconds of a bag of popcorn in the microwave – tiny intermittent bursts that are the prelude to a wild explosion of activity. This time next week, my studio is going to be a huge mess.
I can’t wait.

I thought I smelled something. You really can do a lot with popcorn. . .
Wonderful photo. I loved how you compared your creative energy to popping corn. It does feel like that sometimes. Have fun in the mess!
I loved the energy in this post – and the lyrics… and the popcorn. You’ve done it now, I’m off to make some! Have a messy, wildly creative week!!
stand back–i’m ready for the explosion!!!
can’t way to see the beauty you create from it all…
Looking forward to seeing what comes of the creative mess!!!
