Cuba Series

Three journal entries in a one-week period? What the hell kind of hiatus is this anyway?
After this I'll be back in serious hibernation, but I couldn't resist announcing that I have ten new pieces up on my website – the first round of my Cuba Series. Many more are in the works, and I'll post again when they're up. I added an extra goodie to this portfolio – descriptions of the inspiration for each piece. I'm not sure this will become a regular habit, but I thought it was a fun way to share more about my experiences & observations in Cuba. Go to my website, click on "Portfolio" and click on "Cuba Series" in the side menu. Enjoy!

Oo, this is gorgeous work! i love the flower designs and the rich color.

LOVE THEM!!!
ohhh…this is delicious!
My first thought as I opened up your journal and saw that piece was, ‘WOW!’ So I thought I give you my first impression! Wow – stunning!!
the texture and the colors…yes, i want to eat it all up…
beautiful.
I love the layers of these. They draw me in and keep me there for awhile. Very nice.
This is so dreamy….of another land…the delicate nature is hypnotizing.
Thank you for taking time to share your new work. Love the layering, the intangible quality. So beautiful and though it is a different place and time it connects for me. Evoking stories from my father – the neighbourhood he grew up in: finding shells (of the munition kind) in the rubble of buildings, still not cleared or rebuilt after WWII; my nana’s ferocity in making anyone weighing her rations keep their hands off the scales so she wouldn’t be short-changed. Remeberings I am grateful to be reminded of.
