I am following the story of today’s shooting rampage at Virginia Tech right now with a heavy heart. The Associate Press is reporting 31 deaths which began with the gunman killing one student in the dormitory where I lived my freshman year. Virginia Tech is my alma mater and I am beyond shocked that the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history has just happened there.
I am praying for all of the students, faculty and families that are dealing with this tragedy, and wish I could grow giant wings to fly out to Blacksburg and help out however help might be needed. I ask anyone reading this to send a prayer, a thought, anything in the world that might help this school and community deal with such a horrible tragedy.
I am sad, and feeling incredibly grateful that my loved ones are safe and sound. Dear readers, hug someone you love, do something nice for yourself, and send your prayers to Blacksburg, VA.

I am so shocked by this. Being in India these last 6 weeks has kept me so out of touch with what is happening back home. I’m in tears by this. The tragedy and the senseless violence is heart breaking…
sending prayers and love…

my heart is breaking.
when i read this news yesterday i immediately thought of you.
this is so unreal. i just can’t fathom the experience at all.
i’m so sad right along side of you. so sad.
I’m so sorry. Memories can be shot at, too. I’m so sorry yours were. . .
