Tiptoeing Back In

June 21, 2007

Myplace_3
A bit of graffitti in Florence, Italy.  Taken last month.

There is nothing like a wonderful act of kindness to propel one into action.  The divine Holly at Decor8 wrote not one but two lovely posts about me this week and, knowing her posts would send new web traffic my way, I got back to work on my Etsy shop – which I hadn’t even officially announced here yet – as well as this blog.  I hope you like the additions & slight re-arrangement.  I always love giving my blog & websites a face lift now and then; for some reason it feels especially gratifying when I do this.

I am tiptoeing back into my studio these days, letting each day create my Accomplished Tasks List rather than having a list of Tasks I Must Accomplish rule my time.  It is a difficult habit to master, as I am so used to tackling whatever goals are before me with as much energy and gumption as possible.  But this is the work I must do now, and in the growing spaces of quiet and stillness I experience throughout each day, I am uncovering all kinds of interesting connections and observations about the way I move in the world and relate to other people.  It is as if puzzle pieces got strewn all over the ground and I am slowly figuring out how to put them together.

A very special thanks to Holly and Marisa for all of your kind words and support this week.  I am once again reminded of how blessed I am to be a part of this beautiful creative community.

those words invited that instant spring of pinpricked tears i get on the backs of my eyeballs when i know i was meant to read something.
    i. love. those. words.
the way you describe the puzzle pieces – christine, this speaks right to me in this moment. thank you. for always showing up authentically here and sharing your journey.

I like that it is “things I have accomplished” list rather than “to do” list. Make the list at the end of the day, to show it was a day not wasted, as opposed to writing a list at the beginning that never gets crossed off. Lovely images, so glad to see you are creating!

  3. keep workin’ that puzzle girlfriend!

  4. You are so very welcome. You deserve endless kindness and support and many thanks to you for offering me the same.
