Five Things
February 6, 20091. Boho Goddess Denise Andrade is now booking appointments for artist photo sessions at the Fall 2009 Squam Art Workshops. Head over to her site for information on a fabulous discount she's offering for this special event. While you're at it, pick up one of her gorgeous prints, like the one shown above.
2. I am now experiencing one of the episodes in my life when I actually wish I had TV, so I could be enjoying the new season of Flight of the Conchords. Alas, I have to get snippets on youtube until the new season comes out on DVD, including this video of their new song "Sugalumps". I have to share that when I was watching this, laughing my head off, it suddenly occurred to me – this is their job. Making up songs about their family jewels is just another day at the office.
[P.S. You might want to keep the kids away from this one, it's not G-rated.]
3. Have you signed up for Susannay Conway's e-course, Unravelling: Ways of Seeing My Self? Not yet? Well get going!! It starts a week from Monday and is sure to be inspiring, transformative and FUN.
4. OK, this feels like a peculiar site to link to, but a few commenters have asked where I get my mannequins. I get them at OnlyMannequins…your one stop shopping place for plastic molded human figures. Go figure.
5. My interview with the astounding Jamie Ridler is now up on her wonderful blog, Next Chapter: 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women. Thank you Jamie!!
6. BONUS #6! Hot off the presses – Ms. Boho is doing an Ordinary Sparkling Moments Give Away on her blog today, and can I tell you how flushed, weepy and touched I am by her video? Thank you my friend, I'm speechless…

I just listened to your interview. it is nice to be able to put your voice to your words. I admire your confidence and resolve and am focusing on your words, “be willing to go farther than feels safe.”
thank you.
The boys are coming to the Greek Theatre… I might need to get a babysitter.
xo
mannequins! now i have the perfect prom date! oh – a few years late, but hey – i still can’t dance, so…
cedar and i listened to your interview together tonight. i had him propped up on a boppy pillow and the laptop was right near him. as soon as he heard your voice, he turned to face where it was coming from. his eyes were wide. he listened intently he didn’t turn away until you were done.
smart dude. he knows a good thing.
and then carsten yelled down from the loft “is that Swirly i hear?” i told him it was and then he turned off his music, so he wouldn’t miss the rest.
and so the Boho family all listened to you tonight. after dinner. after watching our weekly recording of Grey’s Anatomy and it felt so refreshing to put the usuals aside and listen to something with absolute substance and inspiration and wisdom. it shifted life to the better for us tonight.
so Cedar looked over at me when you were done and i bragged to him “Yep, she’s my friend.”
and then he looked at me, rolled his eyes and i know he wanted to say, “Yah, but she’s my Auntie and that’s way cooler.”
we love you over here.
xo
oh oh! am heading over to hear your dulcet tones, my love… thanks for the wee shout out
xx
1. I can only dream!
2. “Its business time” is a common phrase in our house (sung in that high-pitched voice they use).
3. Yes! I can’t wait…
4. How kind of you to share your source
5. I too love what you said, “be willing to go farther tan feels safe.” DO IT AFRAID!
6. What a wonderful, beautiful tribute
I’ve signed up for Susannah’s course and I’m almost finished ‘Journal of a Solitude’. Thank you for sharing May’s writing, needless to say, I’m loving it.
Great interview. Great posts.
You’re on fire these days!
hi swirly!
i loved loved LOVED the interview! There were so many amazing bits that I was inspired by and could relate to. I especially resonated with the part about going past where I feel safe and going deeper and further with my work.
I also loved Boho’s sweet video. I also use your book in the same way – turning to a random page. And it always applies to my life in some way and has been such a comfort in my recent move. Thank you for being such a bright spot in my world!
Made me wake up and listen. Thank you
oh oh oh….what yummalisciousness!!!!!!

Okay – my general techno-ineptness strikes again. I can’t find the interview… I’ve found the post but not how to hear the interview. Sigh.
Christine, I feel blessed to have found your blog via the 12 secrets interview you did with Jamie! Upon reading your Five things post, I wandered about, browsing and finding inspiration . . . and the post below just absolutely riveted me to the creaky little folding chair in front of my computer! I too! Yes! Just this last year! A kindred soul I have found in you and your sparklingness! Thank you!
