Mmmm, hotel coffee. I always admire your steadfastness, Christine. You're a force. A FORCE. I'm so proud of you! The windy city can wait, we need this book!

I loved reading this post and smiled several times while reading along. I smiled to think of you holed up in your hotel room, enjoying all the freedom from responsibility that staying in a hotel affords. I smiled (more than once!) to read the story of your first visit to Chicago and all the energy bounding through you as you encountered it. I smiled at the image of the other end of the string you brought back with you to the city this week . . . such a vivid way to describe the experience of having lived so much life in the intervening years of being in that place. I could imagine a huge circle made by the string with all your life experiences enclosed within the circle, bursting with life, and you standing outside of it, looking over it all for a moment, taking it all in.

I have no doubt, given your steadfast nature when it comes to deadlines, that you will finish your book edits and be able to turn fully toward the time with family in Detroit. Many blessings on you as you finish your work, and I hope the time with family is fun and freeing and full of laughter and enjoyment of those you're with.

xoxo,

The string concept made me think of Madeleine L'Engle
and her explanation of teseract (maybe that is spelled correctly, maybe not) in A WRINKLE IN TIME.

WHEN I hold your book in my hands for the first time, I'll be grateful, before even opening it, that you chose to enjoy the Windy City from inside and FOCUS so diligently on the marks between the covers.

When you return home, when can you play? Been thinking of you and wondering how you are! So glad you found my tweet about the Forbes article. I always think of you and all the generosity you put forth into the world. So of course - I thought of you in particular with that piece. Enjoy your time away, your focused time! and hope to see you soon!
